Litsea Cubeba Fruit Extract Description

_Litsea cubeba_ fruit extract is a cosmetic ingredient derived from the _Litsea cubeba_ plant native to parts of Southeastern Asia primarily used for its citrus-like scent.

Although this _Litsea cubeba_-derived extract and oil contains antioxidants, it also contains the skin-sensitizing fragrant compounds citral, linalool and limonene. These volatile ingredients become pro-oxidants when exposed to air, making them problematic for all skin types.

Overall, it’s best to seek out antioxidants that don’t also harm skin.
