Zinc PCA is a synthetic skin-conditioning ingredient created through the combination of zinc and pyrrolidone carboxylic acid (PCA).

Zinc PCA has been touted as a great ingredient for oily, acne prone skin due to the thought that the zinc within the ingredient can help curb breakouts while the PCA helps hydrate. However, most research regarding zinc and it’s derivates’ ability to tackle breakouts is mixed and shows that oral zinc supplements tend to work better than topical skin care products.
